Meyer Truck Equipment is proud to announce the acquisition of Melchiors Trailer Sales & Service in Evansville, Indiana.
The acquisition of Melchiors Trailer Sales & Service will allow Meyer Truck Equipment to expand its footprint and increase its offerings in Evansville while providing the same great service that Meyer is known for. This expansion will also allow Meyer Truck Equipment to become the regional dealer for A.R.E. products, a nationally recognized brand that specializes in truck caps and tonneau covers. Meyer Truck Equipment will now be the A.R.E distributor in its Jasper and Evansville locations.
The merger between Meyer Truck Equipment and Melchiors Trailer Sales & Service was a natural fit as the two companies have a legacy that has been built on being family-owned. Opened in 1963 by Jerry Melchiors in the building they currently occupy, Melchiors fabricated hitches, wired electric trailers, and sold camper shells and pop-up campers. Jerry Melchiors retired in 1991 and sold to Pat Melchiors and they began selling A.R.E. products shortly after in the early nineties. In 2015, Amy Melchiors, Jerry’s daughter and Pat’s sister, and long-time employee Richard Dossett purchased Melchiors Trailers from Pat Melchiors and continued to grow and run the business for the remainder of the tenure.

With this acquisition, Melchiors Trailer Sales & Service and all their business henceforth will operate under the Meyer Truck Equipment name.
